Application to surgery for the treatment of anterior cruciate ligament rupture in dogs, where the tibial plateau angle is altered by implantation of a cortical bone tension screw to reduce anterior translation and stabilize the knee.

Comparison with conventional TPLO bone plate:
1. Surgical principle
CBLO: Stabilizes the knee by changing the angle of the tibial plateau through the implantation of cortical bone tension screws to reduce anterior translation.
TPLO: To change the angle of the tibial plateau by cutting and rotating the tibial plateau to stabilize the knee joint during movement.
2. Surgical techniques
CBLO: Fixation with tension screws, relatively simple and less invasive surgery.
TPLO: requires cutting and rotating the tibial plateau and fixation with plates and screws, complicated and more traumatic surgery.
3. Indications
CBLO: For small to medium sized dogs or mild to moderate ligament injuries.
TPLO: For large dogs or severe ligament injuries.
4. Recovery time
CBLO: Faster recovery, gradual return to activity within a few weeks after surgery.
TPLO: Recovery is slower and takes several months to fully recover.
Please select the appropriate bone plate based on the size of the dog, the extent of the injury, and your veterinarian's experience.
